[Mathematics in engineering] ch01. First-Order ODEs

Mathematics is essential for engineers who try to solve their problems and investigate what they are study.

 

ch 01 is consist of ordinary differential equation which has only have one differential function. it is called first-order ODEs. 

first, we need to talk about what's the exact meaning of differential equation.

differential equation is 미지함수의 도함수를 포함하는 방정식 in Korean. but not easily get what it is even I'm a Korean though.

in English, ODEs are differential equations that depend on a single variable, like it has only one independent variable.

and ODEs can have several solutions, general solution, particular solution and 특이 해. 

 

in most cases the unique solution of a given problem is obtained from a general solution by an initial condition. that is used to determine a value of the arbitrary constant C. 

 

and many ODEs can be seperable. it means, when we solve a problem, we need to set all variables with Y on the left side and all variables with X on the right side of the equation. it is said seperable form.
